In case the power goes out, again

Saturday, February 09, 2013

About 9 or 10 (I don't remember) our power went out.
It is about 10 degrees out, and there is a blizzard out there.
I was borderline panic.
Yes, my husband did call in to work, because he did not want to leave me home alone in this stuff. He works shift work and drives an employee shuttle bus. He was scheduled to be a supervisor and not drive, but our street is atrocious to maneuver in the snow. He also has made arrangements with a colleague to come and plow our driveway tomorrow after most of the storm is done.
We have at least 15 inches out there, and it is still coming down.

So when the electricity and heat came back on, my hubby asked me to make brownies. I did. Yes, I shared a couple. I will keep the rest for the kiddos when they come by this week. It was an anti-stress storm busting snack. I can't even remember when I last made brownies.

I have been curled up with my blanket, and cat. Now I plan to get some sleep, and pray the power stays on not only for us, but for our neighbors and community. It is a bitter time of year for a power outage.
Praying through the night.

That is a relief you got your power back on! That is awesome your husband didn't have to go out in that and even better, has someone to plow you out as well!
Hoping everyone stays safe with their power on. So many people are being affected by this massive Nor'easter. The videos they are showing on the weather channel are incredible.
Thinking of you

emoticon DEBORAH we have 4 doors leading out of the house the only door we can open is the Patio Door. We have huge drifts and it looks so lovely. We always sleep with flashlights under our pillows.
Fred cannot go out but I have to go out to move snow that is way up the doors. I will do it when the wind dies down. It is very light snow and it is cold so it will blow well T HOPE. DH and I love to do this together but this time it is up to me. I CAN DO THIS emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm glad your power came back on last night and I sure hope it's not off or doesn't go off again. You are in my prayers! HUGS!

Glad your power came back on and you are warm & cozy again.

I used to go through seasonal outages 2X a year, and had camping gear to help cope. It can be scary though in the cold. Camping out "at home" is not fun, either. However I am glad I now have those survival skills.
