So, as the title says, I got a pedometer and the "bad" thing is that now I see just how really inactive I am in a day. Yikes! I looked it up to see how many steps people are supposed to take in a day.. 10,000-15,000! Well, let's just say I was nowhere near that. However, it does help put things into perspective for me. I thought I was fairly active, in the back of my mind I thought "I could do more, but I do alright" .. How wrong I was!
I think this tool will become a great help to me, even if I don't wear it every day, just letting me see how far behind I am is already a motivator!
I went to the doctor recently and she told me she wants me to try to lose around 10 lbs in 5 months (when I have to check in with her again for an unrelated matter) .. So, that's a bit of a nudge too! I think 5 months is a fairly long time, I'd love to lose twice that by then. I just have to work MUCH harder than I have been in the past.
Today I did the elliptical twice and a new exercise DVD! :)
I'm going to start being more active on this site again too, just to help keep me motivated.
