Beach Pictures.

Saturday, February 09, 2013

So I was feeling a little down, yesterday, but sitting at the beach really helped lift my spirits. There are some pictures at the end of this blog, so you can see what a nice day it was.

I love going to the beach. For me, that is the best part about living in Hawaii. I live, literally, right across the street from the ocean. Unfortunately, most of the coast line on this side is not very swimmer friendly. There is a lot of rocky outcropping and not a lot of sand beach and the currents are really strong, so I haven’t made much of an effort to go. I forgot that just sitting on the sand and feeling the sea breezes is nice too. So I am going to try and go to the beach once every two weeks. I’m going to take my lunch, sit in the sun, and watch the surfers.

The other thing that gave me a lift was seeing a pod of whales “playing” on my ride back home. There were about four of them, and I watched them breach and wave their flippers around for about 20 minutes. I tried to get a picture, but my camera is a point-and-shoot digital. Trying to use the view screen in the sun is the pits.

I hope that you enjoy my pictures.

The other good thing about Hawaii...

Really fresh seafood! MMMMMMM1

To those of you wondering, the fish on the far right is a Red Parrot Fish (Uhu), the other red fish are Menpachi or Big Scale Soldier Fish (U'u). Then there are the Tako or octopus (He'e), that is what really caught my eye. I love Tako. emoticon

It always helps me to get outside, come back to center and forgot the all the noise of the day!

Glad the timeout helped with your day.
I think it is a great goal to do this once a week and I am sure is well deserved!

We are so lucky to live in Hawaii, and I am one of those people who REALLY needs to get her butt to the beach a lot more often. You're right - it really restores the soul and soothes the mind!
