Diversity in Exercise

I love to exercise and look forward to challenging my body. I work out in a gym and change my routines often. My trainer likes to give me intensive intervals with a cardio refrain. I now anticipate what that will be. We use the elliptical on occasion, spinning, laps in the pool, brisk walking or jogging on the indoor track as my refrains. Sometimes the step comes out and I dance around and on it while throwing a medicine ball to a rebounder. Sometimes I sneak into the gym when she is not there just to practice.

My classes are usually with the 25 to 45 year old folks (I'm 63). I do cardio kickboxing (Les Mills Body Combat) one time each week. I do studio cycling and Zumba dancing each week as well.

I am preparing for golf with my use of the functional trainer. I do the agility ladder, flexibility training, and balance work. I have a home gym with a foam roller, bands, and much more.

My basic problem is figuring out routines with all muscles exercised properly. Recently, I turned that over to my trainer, Lisa.

    Good training! I had a trainer or two who would have me do one set of an exercise and then 90-180 seconds of real fast elliptical. My new trainer believes in the rest between reps but who knows what we'll do as he learns what the arthritic body can handle or not. Keep up the great work!
