Several years ago, when I lived in Chicago, I made up my own workout routine because I lived in a tiny studio apartment without the space to even do workout DVDs. It turned out to be more fun than any other living room workout I've tried, and it's what keeps me coming back to exercise when I feel unmotivated.
I just put on a salsa music station on Pandora, use my smartphone stopwatch to keep an eye on the time, and start dancing. After a minute or two, I switch to minute-long free weight exercises, targeting one muscle group at a time. After each free weight minute, I go back to salsa, merengue, bachata, or just shakin' and jumpin'.
Before I know it, I've hit all my muscle groups and kept my heart rate high for 20-40 minutes. It's so painless! And it's so efficient. Gotta love that.
