After having some tough days, I decided to go see some old friends at my old job to get some Monkey Touch. You may wonder what the heck I'm talking about... Well, Years ago researchers found that if a baby monkey is taken away from its mother and all loving touch, that it fails to thrive. I have always believed this to be true of humans, so have always said during bad times that I need some Monkey Touch, some assurance I am not alone. When I walked into the office today I received hugs, wonderful Monkey Hugs, without asking, because I love my friends and know that they love me. It was just what the doctor ordered. The Monkey Hugs do not solve my problems but they apply salve to my wounds and make me feel stronger and more able to deal with what pains me.
My new friends on Spark People reached out from afar today also offering their Monkey Hugs in their words. Thank-you for reaching out. It is always welcome and if you are having down days, I have many Monkey Hugs to share.
