snow day

Friday, February 08, 2013

The snow has been very tame throughout most of the day today, but our personal training session was definitely cancelled since the governor has forbidden anyone to drive. Unfortunately that means I have been sitting around most of the day with brief intervals of shoveling and also there may have been an ice cream sundae in the mix somewhere. Therefore, not a great day for eating right or exercising, but I'm not going to let it bug me. I did go this morning to try and buy myself some new pants, but I think I've decided to wait until I am solidly a 6 or 8 before I buy new pants. I can make do with what I have for a little while. Hopefully the snow lets up enough that I'll be able to do something other than sit around the house tomorrow. However, I have made good use of my time. I filed my taxes, worked on sewing a pocket, and spent some quality time with my mother. I decided that was preferable to spending the day alone at my apartment, especially since my heat is apparently not working at the moment.

In happy news, I have recently started dating a new guy. He's a total sweetheart who makes me laugh, so I think it's a good thing. He's also interested in losing about 30 pounds, so he's on board with all my nutritional and exercise aspirations. Also I have a possible lead on an apartment in the same neighborhood where I live now... We'll see what happens...

Sounds like it was a much better idea to get snowed in at your parent's house than at your apartment by yourself. The weather definitely saps some energy from us, so don't be too hard on yourself for not getting a major workout in. Shoveling does burn calories too :)

WOW! It was, of course, over 70* here today. :) Not that I'm showing off or anything.

What an amazing day though! Shoveling snow is No Joke. And as long as you enjoyed the sundae and keep the calories reasonable for the next few days, no long term harm and alls good.

And fingers crossed for the guy - it's so so so nice to have someone else in your life who supports nutrition and fitness goals!
