My weight is starting to come off even with the new scale. I'm just hoping this time it continues to go down. But, I have noticed that I am becoming so much stronger.
DVD's I used to do that would have my heart rate soaring barely get it above the "in the zone" mode. I did a dvd of Coach Nichole's and didn't break a sweat.
I remember when I could barely do 10 minutes on the treadmill at no incline at 2.0 miles per hour. Now, I am doing 3.0 miles per hour and up to 6 on the incline. Yes, that does get my heart rate up and I generally only hit it during the Victoria challenge.
Oh for those of you who don't know, since someone asked me, the Victoria challenge is one that Jillian Michael's came up with on the Biggest Loser. She goes by the premise that anyone can do anything for one minute. I do it with the incline on the treadmill. I do one minute and an incline of 2 and then one minute at an incline of 5 or 6. You do that continuously for 30 minutes. You can do the same thing with the speed. You can do 2.0 MPH for a minute and then 5.0 MPH for a minute. People do it with bikes too by changing the resistance. It is a really good workout to burn a lot of calories quickly.
Speaking of Victoria, there is no way I could have done Victoria at this level 6 months ago. I remember the first time I tried it. I did it with the speed of the treadmill and moved from 1.5 MPH to 3 MPH. I have tried to run on the treadmill and I can do it. I just don't feel sure footed and, between my back and shoulder surgeries, I just don't like to chance it. I will take the hills.
I think my goal in all this is to keep pushing myself. I can do it and I have to believe I can do it. Tomorrow, it is back on the horse. Now, that is cardio and balance rolled into one. I even need to start pushing it more with him. I think a bit more trotting and less walking would be good for us :)
