What an up and down day for me.
First, I lost my internet (for a few hours) last evening so could not find out if the center where I take Tai Chi would be open this morning-
schools are closed as we are experiencing a blizzard- expecting 2-3 ft of snow before it all ends at noon on Saturday-
as it turns out it was closed so glad I didn't get up early needlessly to go.
Then the professor's SIL called me at about 9 to say they were in the ER with him after a fall this morning.
The good doctor is 98 (nearly 99) and we have known for some time that his next trip to the hospital would likely be his last.
Even if he recovers from this event, he will probably be sent to a skilled nursing care facility and would likely never be released to go home.
He has had a wonderful life but he seems like he has been ready to meet his maker for some time.
I'll keep you posted but as of now I am unemployed.
I took advantage of the storm's slow start to get a good workout in -
I've been laid low all week by a bad cold and finally feeling better.
Well, I was more than ready for it!
I did 20 min of HIIT on the elliptical,
and then another 25 min of HIIT on the treadmill,
followed by 30 min of ST,
including my beloved kettlebells,
ending with some ab work and a loooooong stretching session-
so 115 minutes altogether,
burning just over 1000 calories,
according to my heart rate monitor.
Came home and ate a huge carb and protein packed lunch and am looking at the pretty snow making real yeast cinnamon rolls "for the family".
See what I mean about my up and down day?
Sure hope my sparkbud, Helene, got off on her dream vacation to Barbados with ChefKat this morning!
Wish I was THERE, don't you?
Although, that reminds me, I believe it's been some time since I bragged about my vacation home on the beautiful island of Anguilla.
I will be going there mid-July, hopefully with my grandkids and their parents.
