Feeling the excitement draining

Hi SP! I've had a tough 24 hours. Found that I am starting to get on the scale often... My first 8 days I had weighed only twice. But over the last three several times per day. Had only a small loss in that time frame of 3 days. Been following low carb diligently for 11 days now and am finding yesterday I'm thinking about carb filled foods and getting very sad I can not eat them.

I need to make it another 3.5 days without weighing. I need to do this for me. I need to follow through and not give in sending my DH to the corner store for some high carb snacks.

Yesterday when this set in and I'm thinking its all because I put too much stock in what that dumb scale says, I didn't work out the for the first time in 10 days. I'm hoping when I work out here in a minute I will at least have the motivation to make it one more day... One day at a time.

I so need to find a way to stay off that scale!

    i use to hide mine but now i just jump on when ever and write down what it says
I can change weight by a pound of two from before and after a shower when the numbers change within hours it make it very hard to make them a big deal

    Put the scale in your car trunk. I had to do that before I gave it to the church. I do have a key to the church and could go any time but it solved the problem for me. Other wise I was on the scale a million times a day. emoticon

    I've been there,Holly. Hide the scale for now & focus on how you feel & other NSV's
( Non-Scale Victories). There are some great articles-I'll send you some links in your Sparkmail. Hang in there & never ever give up...

    emoticon GET RID OF THAT SCALE!!!!! DON'T LET IT SABOTAGE YOU. IT'S ALWAYS DARKEST RIGHT BEFORE THE SUN BREAKS THROUGH.

I agree with the pork rinds, and I'd add a serving of nuts for one of my snacks. I agree with making sure you get enough fat. Try to make it as healthy as you can. Do some more reading to see if you can find more suggestions.

    I weigh myself daily first thing in the morning mostly to keep an eye on water weight. If I'm too puffy I re-evaluate my sodium intake and maybe up my fiber. After I weigh I put the scale up in a drawer under the sink.

If you're using the scale as the only means of tracking progress then I'd hide it between weigh ins to keep from emotionally sabotaging yourself. Best of luck with the low carb. Sometimes low carb doesn't make you feel the best. If you feel too tired and rotten try lookiing for the items with the best complex carbs for a pick me up.

    If you are doing low carb be sure to get enough fat and a moderate amount of protein. Fat is your friend and it will help keep you from the cravings if you stick with it and get enough fat. Hang in there. It is so worth it! Don't worry about how many calories, especially until you get over the induction and past the cravings. Just eat plenty of fat, eat when you are hungry. My snack is pork rinds when I want that crispy, salty carby thing. I also have other things that I use for sweet somethings. But you can use the pork rinds, cracklings, chicharones, whatever you want to call them like bread, crackers, chips etc. You can dip them into low carb dip or tuna salad or I even use them to dip into my over easy fried eggs. Don't give up!!!!

    I do the same thing! I will weigh like 4 times a day and can't figure out how I am not losing weight! Get that scale out of your house. Send it to work with your husband, lock it in the trunk, anything to make it an effort to retrieve it. I am currently looking at mine everyday and trying to resist standing on it! Eventually I will weigh but I am trying not to obsess!!!

    Hide the scale, I used to put it in the closet upstairs, effective.
