What Am I Doing Wrong?

I am trying to stay focused and positive however I'm starting to wonder what I'm doing wrong with my diet/exercise routine. I have come to a standstill and have not lost any weight in about a week now. I know that's not that long but I was losing before this and now it's stopped entirely. I am eating right everyday and exercising (currently I am doing 2 Jillian Michael's DVDs- the 30 Day Shred and Killer Buns and Thighs). So what is going on? I am beginning to think I'm not eating enough. I know that if you don't eat enough calories (especially since I am working out so much and so intensely) that your body basically goes into starvation mode and your metabolism shuts down and no weight loss occurs. Does anyone think that this is what is happening? I know it's not WHAT I'm eating because I've done a good job in that area. So could I just need to be eating more? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

    There are a couple of things that come to mind as I read you blog. It definitely could be that you are not getting enough calories in with the amount of exercise you are doing. Are you using Spark's nutritional and fitness trackers? The reason I ask is because if you track both it will tell you if you need to up your calories to keep up with your exercise.

The second thing that comes to mind is the type of exercise you are doing. If I am reading correctly you are doing the same 2 dvd's daily; I would switch that up a bit. The killer buns and thighs are more of a strength training I would assume and I would switch that to every other day. Muscles need time to recoup and repair, so perhaps do the lower body Mon, Wed, Fri and do an upper body strength training Tues, Thurs, Sat and take Sunday off...just an example of what I am thinking. Even for your cardio dvd it is a good idea to switch that up from time to time so that the body isn't getting too accustom to a routine. Although the 30-day shred, does that have more than one workout that you switch between during the 30 days? If so then I'd say keep going with that until the 30 days are up.

Finally, one thing that I have really discovered on this journey is that patience is vital. It is so important to remember that the number on the scale is not the only thing that matters. Measure your success by things like the inches you are losing, the new tone in your muscles, how your clothes fit, how you can do things you couldn't before and how you feel. As long as you are living healthy the scale will catch up to all your work.

  It may not only be about not eating enough-are you drinking enough?
Also, perhaps try a different workout option-your body could be adjusting to the continuous routine-you need to shake it up and try something different, even if in place of one of your work-out dvd's.
Whatever you do-keep going, don't throw in the towel. I read this saying at my gym, "you can throw in the towel, or you can use the towel to wipe the sweat off you face.

  You need to get your calories each day--just not excessive calories. Sometimes a jumpstart such as a special treat will help. Maybe you can find an irresistible treat that would be a reward for you but stay within your caloric restrictions. Don't give up because I feel confident you will find the right answer for you.
