Sparkpeople sent me a copy of their workout DVD "Total Body Sculpting" with Coach Nicole to review. I have and use their previous DVD release "28 Day Boot Camp" which I also recommend for everyone no matter their level of fitness.
This newest DVD did not disappoint. Back is the mixed workout giving both cardio and strength training. Equipment used was simple - hand weights and a chair. The routines are demonstrated clearly with verbal instructions from Coach Nicole. This is not a fast paced dance routine that is difficult to follow. You can do these workouts first time out of the box!
The setting is a very attractive workout room with a calming decor on the fringes of the room. I love that the music provides a beat but isn't the FOCUS of the workout. It does not distract and you can do the workout on your TV while others are in the room without them feeling like they are in a gym! My husband often works from home and he has no problem with me putting one of these SP workouts on the tv as I don't have to pause if he takes a phone call!
With my knee implants I have to modify exercises and Coach Nicole explains how to modify and Jewel demonstrates behind her to the right. For those of you that want a more advanced workout Lindsay demonstrates how to modify for that as well. This truly offers three levels of intensity!
Here is a snapshot of the Sizzle Sculpting Workout:
You can see that Jewel is making a modification in the back for beginners.
This video offers:
4 minute warm-up
20 minute Barre Body Blast
22 minute Body Weight Burn
19 minute Sizzle Sculpt Circuit
4 minute Cool Down
In addition there are bonus features including:
12 minute Cardio/Strength Training workout from the 28 Day Boot Camp
Power Workout with Kristi Yamaguchi and a trainer. This workout also offers modifications.
You can buy this video from Target for $12.99 and you get 250 sparkpoints for buying it there if you act by Feb. 28th!
This video is also available at Amazon for $12.99 (if you are prime, shipping is free) here:
I highly recommend this video. I'm 57 with double knee implants and get a good workout with the beginner modifications. With the normal routine and advanced modifications I think anyone could benefit from this workout.
I received this DVD for free from SparkPeople but did not receive any form of payment for my review and these are my own thoughts!
Just one more thought.
This would be an excellent Valentine's present instead of a box of chocolates! Grin!
