Concentrate on how far you have come not how far you have to go!

It's easy to get down on yourself for losing 5 pounds instead of 25 pounds. Thinking too much about how far we have to go on this journey can be discouraging. If we think of the progress we have made... No matter how little then we can feel success. Feeling success helps us to push forward. We have done well no matter how many pounds we have lost and we can continue by feeling good about what we have done. Since 2006, I have lost 40 pounds. The weight loss slowed up a bit from time to time but I could always get right back in the groove. Now, while with Spark People, I have lost another 13 pounds. I should never feel like I have not done well enough. I have done just fine. If I had scorned myself for not losing all the weight in a year, I may have given up altogether. I didn't!
