The best laid plans of Kitty and Tazzy . .

Friday, February 08, 2013

Well, nothing happened last night the way I wanted. As I got home it was snowing so I was like “Cool, I can run in the snow!!”

I walked in the house to find out we were COMPLETELY out of dog food. Boy child forgot to tell me. Ok, pack back in the car and off to Petsmart. Run into a bunch of people that I know, chat, play with dogs, get dog food, get new collar, check out, and drive home. No problem. It was still early enough for a short walk and my challenge.

I walk in the house and am immediately met by Tazzy with a bread bag stuck on her head. Don’t worry, she chewed a hole to breathe out of and ate all the bread. As I am asking the boy child how she got the bread again, he drops the milk! The gallon exploded. I now have two dogs (one still with a bread bag on her head) trying to lap up the milk, a 6 ft boy child fluster and upset over the milk, a hubby yelling for towels, and me in an 8X8 kitchen!
Shoo the dogs outside into the now freezing rain. Use a roll of paper towels to clean up milk and then a quick wash of the floor. Tell boy child to feed dogs out of new bag and head back out to the grocery store.

Notice I said nothing about dinner! Yep, hubby and I at a grocery store – HUNGRY! The only thing I can say is I DIDN’T buy the chocolate chocolate chip cookies. I did stick with healthy foods. However it was 2.5 hours at the grocery store (part of this was that the lines were INSANE).

Get home, dogs are going crazy. Boy child could open the dog food bag so they are now 3 hours late on feeding. Feed dogs. Feed Kitty. Collapse on couch and watch old Alfred Hitchcock.

Fail on walk
Fail on personal challenge
Fail on steps (nope all that didn’t get me more than 5,000 steps).

New day – thank goodness! So I’m going to repeat yesterday’s challenge 100 jumping jacks and 100 burpees. There is no possible food we could need tonight and hubby has class so that will give me an hour all to myself. I can do this!!! Any out and about will wait until tomorrow!

omg, I could picture that! I've had days like that. Once clean-up is done, I often think of just going to bed and pulling the covers over my head!

It seems to me that when I have a Murphy's Law day like that I should get to track it somehow. If your heart rate is up you should definitely get to track it as cardio and or have a formula to convert it to steps.

2.5 hours at the grocery store is crazy. I hate that! That's like Christmas-time busy not early February busy. I guess everyone was stocking up in case of snow?

I'm sorry your day didn't go great, but good job resisting the cookies and today really is a new day.

Some days just don't go as planned, hope you have a better day today.

I'm sorry, but I had to laugh! The thought of Tazzy with that bread bag on her head and then the spilt milk! Oh my! What's up with Tazzy and the bread? Where do you keep it? Perhaps a higher venue is called for? Top of the fridge? Poop happens that's for sure! Hope today went better!

Wow! What an evening, life gets in the way of the best laid plans some times, nothing we can do to stop that; but that is why tomorrow is beautiful thing, because it always brings new opportunities I hope this evening and the weekend ahead bring you more time to get your personal challenges and goals met.

It is interesting that you managed to add a tinge of humor to what could have been a frustrating evening! Humor and Hitchcock, not a bad combo :) There is something about going out at night, in the cold, in the winter, multiple times that is just not fun. I've had to do that a few times in the last weeks, and don't like it very much. Glad you sound ready to face tonight head on!!!

And I thought my day was bad. It seems to me with all running around you did, you got plenty of exercise. Stress ~ how much ?? emoticon
If I were you, I would have gone out to eat. Oh yea, I did. emoticon
Has boy child ever hears of scissors ?? Those and knives open almost everything.
I'm curious, what was boy child doing while Tazzy was gettng into the bread, and head stuck in a bag that could have potentially been a real problem ?

Lady, you're a saint. You deserve a nice, quiet girls weekend away. emoticon

Days like that can suck the life right out of your bones! Well, glad everyone survived. Wow! Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog has been known to steal a slice or 2 of bread (or preferrably, a bagle -- guess he love the yeasty smell) but never a loaf of bread! Tazzy has a talent it seems! LOL -- well, NOW it can be laughed @ a little! Sorry it was such a frustrating evening. UGH

Hope you're safe from the horrendous weather heading eastward. We had snow all day, but got a total of about 8 in. Better than having to measure it in feet!

HUGS

I think life sometimes attacks our own personal goals. I think you got more steps than I did though. By the time I got home, took 16 yr old to dentist, run home to feed dogs, take 12 yr old to pitching practice, then sporting good store for softball and yoga pants we got home at 945 and I ended up with 4459. Wow - now that's a failure.
So sorry you had a stressful day. Sounds like it was just one thing on top of another. You handled it pretty well, unless of course you are leaving that part out. hahaha.
Hope your Friday is mucho better.
