Decluttering the Paper Avalanche
Friday, February 08, 2013
I've been really busy lately decluttering a lot of paperwork I have lying around that has been driving me crazy for a long time. I never seemed to have the time to go through them all, but made it a priority this week and am happy that I am almost done.
I will admit that a lot of my paper clutter comes from printing out recipes online over the years that seem to accumulate in piles of overwhelming and depressing masses. Okay, I'm exaggerating a little as my house in no way resembles the hoarders you see on tv shows, but in my mind sometimes it seems overwhelming.
I now have a very large pile of paper for the kids to use as scratch paper for their schooling as well as for me to write lists on. I realize that most of this printing was a waste as I never used some of the recipes I printed out, but this was done over a period of years and was way before Pinterest was ever created, LOL.
I don't print out recipes as much now unless it's a tried and true one to save on paper/ink and not to mention, space. I keep all my recipes in notebooks with dividers to separate the type of recipe it is, but figured I just needed to keep the ones I know I will probably try and make or have made and the family loves.
Today I'm finally getting to the grocery store and have all my coupons, flyer match-ups for sales items and electronic coupons saved and ready to go. In other words, I am finally organized enough to go, LOL.
