Winter 5% Challenge, Pre Challenge Assignment #5?

We are gearing up for another great 5% Challenge where the goal is to lose 5% of your body weight while virtually racing other teams around the world. Sound like fun? It is! Sound like good motivation? It's the best! If you are interested, they are still looking for team members-

Today's assignment is to list all the reasons you want to lose weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

Okay, that's pretty easy, which of us has not so over-fantasized about losing weight that we don't have a very clear mental picture of what that would be like? But my reasons? The biggest one is that I want to live to be at least 100 years old. Seriously. I am the person that at someone's fiftieth birthday, while others are laughing at yet another "Over the Hill" mug, I am gently and loudly reminding them that they are only HALF WAY done. (Assuming, of course, that everyone plans on living to 100. You are, right?) People love me at these parties.
So, that's the big reason. The other reason is clothes. I love clothes. I love fashion, high fashion. I love high quality, well made clothes. And with my default body (go ahead! It's ok to think that fat is your default mode because honey, it just might be!) those clothes just do not fit. I am very pear shaped with huge saddle bags (so huge a plastic surgeon once admitted they were the BIGGEST he'd seen!) so I am relegated to stiff jeans and bulky tops (muffin top!). I lost weight once and got down to smallish 8. Clothes fit! Well, better than in my default mode, there was still some saddlebag to account for. So, I want to be able to go shopping and come away with great clothes that flatter me.

"What do you want to change?" Sizes! I've already quit drinking and for the most part have gotten my sweet tooth/closet eating binges under control. I don't have a lot of heavy duty life style changes to make. I just need to be more consistent in good eating every day. I can do that!

"How do you want to look?" Like Halle Berry. She's got a great, healthy looking body and she's not that much younger than I am. Of course, I'd need boob implants...(not happening!) See exhibit A:

If I cannot have Halle's body, then I'd like mine to not shock me in a bad way when I see it in passing shop windows.

"How do you want to feel?" See exhibit A above. Looking healthy and fit brings out self-confidence and nothing looks better than that.

"What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body?" Get myself back up when I crash skiing. Really. That's the biggest thing I noticed when I was down to a good weight last winter. I fall, I can get myself back up! Instead of being the fat woman on the hill who needs someone's help. Pride saved.

"And list all the OTHER things that you want to change! " Okay, you asked for it. I want people to stop judging each other and just get on with their own lives. I want my kids to call me more. I want dog poop to harden the minute it hits the grass. I want more sunny days. I want the Republicans to give us a real candidate next time. I want cute clothes made for the average American woman (5'4" and size 14) and I want those clothes in cute stores at the mall (Seriously, why isn't this happening? The market is huge!). I want calorie-free cookies.

    You made me laugh, but I see your point in everything! You have done it before, you are starting at a lower weight, and you know what works bc you have tried a few different approaches! Go with what works for you!
