All schools are cancelled for miles around, a big snow storm warning the next few days. I kept the wood stove going thru the night and I have to say, it's so cozy in here this morning. My sister Bobbi Jo and her family took off this morning to Albany NY to meet up with a driver who picks up rescued dogs from various rescues in the United States and transports them to their new homes. She is picking up a female grey dachshund that fell on bad times earlier and ended up at a kill shelter before this group swooped in and rescued her. She will have a beautiful life with my sister, my sister has a few rescues she has had for years, but her dog, Libby a dachshund died last year, she was near 18. So my sister decided to rescue one in her memory because she is having a hard time getting over her. Sometime today, I got to travel over on the next road to her house to stay with her animals till she gets back. Due to the weather they may have to stay overnight in a hotel. Even tho the weather is so bad, she was bound and determined not to miss that connection because that dog is counting on her and she is going to be there. Lol.
I thought I would be able to stay with doing the shakes but yesterday I soon realized that is not realistic, it just makes me want food more so I have decided to do the shakes when I don't want breakfast or lunch, just make a shake instead so you will still get something. I have decided I need to come to peace with food, as the weightloss motivator said, "fat people eat for pleasure" stuck with me. I am on day three of his program and I identify with all he says. So yesteday I did have a shake for breakfast, for lunch I had one cup of homemade chili and cornbread I made the day before. The for dinner I had stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things incase we needed things for snow storm, while there I picked up a cooked chicken from the deli and then a big salad and a loaf of french bread from bakery. My son Ben was at the movies and dinner with a friend so it was just Craig and I for dinner, chicken and salad, with two small rounds of cut french bead. Later before bed I had a banana and I drank more water than usual. I did amazing actually for me. I did NOT do any mindless eating and when I did eat I took the time to enjoy it. I was up 3 times using the bathroom tho thru the night, Must be because I did not have tons of the salt I am used to and not one sip of soda. I got rid of alot of water. Needless to say I got up at 6:30 am, cleaned the stove out restocked it, let the dogs out made coffee than at 7:45 or so made myself 3 scrambled eggs with two small toasted rounds of french bread with butter. I felt hungry this morning so I needed real food but for lunch I am going to do the Visalis protein shake with a banana in it.
Yesterday I got my sewing machine out and got myself a little familiar with it. I bought it several years ago, then felt intimidated by it and packed it away. So I decided to conquer it, lol. I sewed alot of things I had cut out, and boy do I need some practice, but OOPS the bobbin an out so I found the book put it with it and decided that is for another day, who knows I may bring it to my sistes and figure it out there. I want to make some ornies, bowl fillers, I cut out a bunch of shamrock and elf shoes and also bunnies and easter eggs. So I guess I can start stuffing the ones I sewed than do the decorating part, I will post pics when I get a few done.
Craig and I got invited to a friends house down the road, tomorrow nite at 6 om. For a few drinks and some good food and company. We share gardening likes and chickens, even though at the moment we have none. We want to get together and do a few seed swaps and exchanging gardening magazines. Looking forward to it but I want to make some sort of snack plate or something to bring along. I am going eat mindful thruout today and tomorrow incase I am temped to eat more than I need at the party.
Going on 9 am, I think sometime today I am going to do some excersize from my chair, I have a new sparkfriend who goes by "Kastastrophy" who does video blogs and is amazing. She does these excersizes and inspires me to do something, anything, just do something. So today I am going to watch one of her doing excersizes from sitting in her chair. She has lost 51 pounds so far making some changes. I hate excersize, since I became so overweight. But I can do this and hopefully as time goes by I will do more. As long as you can keep food in its proper perspective, you will win the war. My goal is to keep meals within 3X's a day, just as I grew up. This way your body has time to rest inbetween instead of working on the eating overload snacking all day.
