Couch to 5K - Update

I've posted about this program a few times, but thought it was time for another update. Tonight, I moved into Week 3, Day 1. Last week was run for 90 seconds, walk for 2 minutes, repeat six times. Tonight was run for 90 seconds, walk for 90 seconds, run for THREE MINUTES, walk for three minutes, repeat twice. When I looked at the schedule and saw "Run for three minutes" I about died. Again, I thought "there is NO way. NO WAY!" But, me being me, decided I would at least try it and see how it went.

I did it. I ran for three minutes. Twice.

I was sweating, panting, and in general questioning my sanity, but I did it. When I started at the gym, I became winded WALKING too far. Now I'm running. Three minutes might seem like nothing to some people, but to me, it's nothing short of amazing.

  Great job! I'm on my week 3 on my C25K as well. I just finished day 2K 3 Day1 yesterday and thought the same thing as you did. I never thought I'd be able to run 3 straight minutes. But I did it too! I usually wait a day in between so today I went back and did a week 2 workout. Tomorrow will be another 3/3. Good luck to you on your C25K!

    There was a time I couldn't walk a mile without geing in excruciating pain. Now, I'm considering a marathon. This is how it starts. You will continue to achieve things you never thought possible. Congrats on your achievement, and all those to come!

Baby steps...I remember when I would die just running for one minute but it gets easier and you get stronger!
