SP vs WW

Friday, February 08, 2013

I lost over 100 pounds with WeightWatchers which cost me plenty at $18/mo.

The reason I finally quit, was not so much the money, but rather (a) the bugs in their Flash implementation, (b) the complete unresponsiveness of their customer service, (c) the rather paltry database of food nutrition info they had, and (d) the inability of their software to take any calories consumed input from exercise equipment.

For (a), (c) and (d), SparkPeople is superior.

WRT (b), since (1) I'm not paying any money, (2) all the software has worked fine, and (3) there are lots of friendly people here to help, SP is hands down superior.

I am especially fond of SparkPeoples' fitness, cooking and recipe info.

Agree - SparkPeople working really well for me. I just think that WW unecessarily and overcomplicated the program with the new points system, since "points plus" numerics are not readily available. I spent way too much time trying to identify points for items not in their database. I need this process to be simple, so SP works best for me.

I completely agree with you. I prefer SP's site to the WW site too for the same reasons. emoticon
