My Tricks to cut calories in foods.. Winter 5 % challenge assignment # 5.

This assignment was asked that if I have tricks to cut calories in foods that we commonly eat. Cutting calories may seem like a daunting task, especially when you're trying to cut hundreds of calories each day to lose the recommended 1-2 pounds per week. Will I go hungry?
Is there something you eat often that you have learned to cut the calories on? What works best for you?
*I do not have special way to cut calories, but I just started leaning more about foods general, such as simple carb vs. complex carb. And I try to avoid simple carb. And when I cook, I steam or broil instead fried. Use lemon or lime instead salt. Eats lots of fresh salads
*To stop sweets craving , I drink home made veggies and fruits smoothie in the morning for breakfast. This has been working best for me to get my veggie fruits in take, also stop carving of sweets all day.
*Recently, I purchased foods scale and calorie counting book , also some other foods related books to help me understand foods and reduce calorie. (*^^*) I also believe Spark People's Food tracker to track my foods to see all the calorie I've consumed for the day is really the eye opener and helping me. To save calorie, I will not go hungry. I will eat something with less calorie with nutrients. Avoid junk foods, don't keep it in the house.
Last but not least, drink lots of water.
