Even though my weight has been up and down over the last week and a half, I have still not put back on all of what I've lost over the last month. Today I was being daring, and tried on a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to get into for over a year. THEY FIT!! I was so surprised! I could get them up without struggling, they zipped with no problem and the waist band was even a little loose. Didn't feel like I was being strangled, they were very comfortable!
It has also been 9 years (as of 2/5) since I quit smoking. It has also been 9 years since I had my heart attack. I'm still here and plan on staying around for a very long time.
Also, this week my glucose numbers have consistently been under 125! I have had problems in the past with spikes, but having numbers this consistently within normal ranges has really made a difference in how I feel. I haven't had Mcdonalds in about a month, substituted the cheese slices with saltines for my morning snack with a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, and my afternoon snack is Greek Yogurt. I have a piece of fruit every day, and I feel great. I do allow myself a treat once in a while, but try to make sure it still doesn't put me over my daily limits for calories, fat, and other things that make a difference.
