Gripe, gripe, gripe...

Thursday, February 07, 2013

All I've done today is gripe about what's wrong. Actually that's not totally true because this morning started off great. My Aunt and I went to the thrift shop and I spent $1.50 and got sweaters - 25 cents each. So do the math. I decided I didn't like the one when I got home - whatever possessed me to pick it up to start with other than it was so so soft beats me. So anyway it's going to be donated back to the thrift shop. I think two of them will go in the closet for maybe next winter, if they're not too big by then. The rest were great. Loved them. Then we went to lunch - I ate too much but I figured on doing a couple hours walking with my dog when I got home. No problem. Then we went to the grocery and Family Dollar for a couple things. So a little more walking in there. Took my Aunt back to her apartment and brought out two large garbage bags of her laundry. I told her when she moved I'd do her laundry. She's having so much trouble with her back and walking due to spinal stenosis and sciatia that I knew she'd never make it at the laundry mat at the apartments. So far since January 2nd I've brought home her laundry twice. So you can imagine how much I have. She buys the stuff to do the laundry - that was the only way I could get her to let me do it - and it's just a few extra loads every few weeks. No biggie. Get home and unload the car. My dog's frantic at this point. So I get the groceries put up and leave everything else where I put it.
Got my socks and walking shoes on and off we go. This is the point were the day starts going down. Not only does my right foot hurt now the left one is really hurting. We walk about 70ish minutes total. Good old Ace, the escape artist male lab down the street, comes up and starts pissing my female dog off. Thought I was going to be in the middle of a fight. She's gotten to where she'll start standing up for herself now. So we cut the walk short because I'm in pain. Get home take my shoes and socks off and notice there's blood on the toe portion of my left foot. Darn toe nail on my little "piggy" toe cut into the next toe. So I start looking for the toe nail clippers. No where to be found. I let my son use them before he left for Georgia last weekend. Can't find them anywhere. Finally after looking everywhere imaginable I find them in the couch. Ok great. Start to cut the toenails and all they want to do is bend my toenails. Really getting pissed off by nail. Finally I get the four of the toenails on my left foot done. Then the toenail clippers go flying out of my hand - this is a normal occurrence since I have arthritis and carpal tunnel in both hands. Happens all the time. Chase them down and try again. Bending the toenails so I quit, after I let the darn things fly off again. Flustration is building really good. Then my dog jumps up on the bed next to me, sees something outside and goes crazy barking - right in my ear. Needless to say I now have a wonderful headache. She's turned into Queen Barks Alot today for some reason. Doing laundry now. I was going to do some walking with Leslie Sansone but I'm barely walking right now. So I don't think I'll press my luck any further tonight.
So I think I'll spend the rest of the night doing laundry and trying to relax playing some solitaire or doing puzzles, maybe reading. Anything!
So the fun is over and now maybe that it's all out of my system I can actually do something right. If not I'll call it a night and maybe get a little sleep. Who knows?
So how was your day? Even with all that went wrong it was still a true blessing to be alive and enjoy the 62 degrees out there. Cold front and rain headed our way.
Love to all, Hugs,

My day certainly wouldn't top yours in the fun factor of chasing things down, staying out of a dog fight and being in pain. Get some sleep and it will look better in the morning. HUGS!

I know what you mean about the arthritis and carpal tunnel .... had that happen to me and I broke out in a roaring laugh ... and then I go back and do it again .... I finally realized that if I did nails after a bath/shower, they were so much softer and it was so much easier !! hope you are feeling better ... you really had a big big day .... Roc

You've had a seriously busy and frustrating day. I think taking it easy this evening was a great idea. How nice of you to do your aunt's laundry for her; I know she must really appreciate it. I hope you have a restful night and that your head and your feet feel better tomorrow.

Seriously; like you I had such a gripe today and felt ashamed of it later.

Isn't it awesome though that when you apologise to God he instantly forgets this moment and the peace that falls over you when you realise you can completely forget it yourself. emoticon

Has anyone told you what a great storyteller you are?.I loved reading your blog.Sounds like you have an interesting life.

I hope your weekend is awesome.Lesleyanne.
