**Oh, life!""

My oldest is a bit depressed. emoticon She is trying to figure out how to pay for her car and pay for college. She is getting some scholarships, but unfortunately having married parents that both work doesn't help with the area of grants or financial aid. It's frustrating, I know, and we can't help a lot with three other kids at home. I told her she can always live at home after college and pay off her loans.

I have had a good week with my eating and exercise. I did 30 minutes of walking this morning and 45 minutes of Zumba. I feel great! emoticon I weigh in tomorrow and I'm going to go down to the kitchen. My oldest said that she thinks the scale is 5 lbs. heavy because we have small tile in our bathroom. She weighed on two different scales, at different houses, and they both weighed the same and she was 5 lbs. lighter. We'll see tomorrow if the wood floor is better than tile.

If anyone has advice on financial aid and college, please share the information! Thanks!

She may have to get a part-time job while in school and I think her staying home after school is a good idea, even if it is just a year or so.

I never thought about tile floor changing the weight on the scale. I think on my next weigh-in I will do it in the bathroom and in the kitchen and check the difference.

I ended up getting some of the loan for my son when he went. He is paying them off himself. It is tough. I help him keep up on things when he gets behind. He usually does not ask for much when he does need help. Hope your weigh in went well!

I'm so sorry. I went through the same thing years ago. I have nothing that will help. I hope you find something for your daughter.

Sorry, can't help you with information regarding college money. My DH and I are already putting money aside for the grandchildren's college education. I know it's going to cost so much by the time they are ready to go as right now they are 6 & 4.
Best of luck to your daughter. she will really appreciate her education more I believe if she pays for it herself. My step son flunked out of college 3 times while we were paying....it wasn't until he paid for himself that he got his act together. He is now 38 and a CPA and partner of a big firm.

Sorry, we had to pay full rate. Still paying for one that keeps changing his major - hecis on the ten year plan!!

Sounds like you are doing great with your fitness. I haven't heard about little vs big tile - very interesting!

My wife is taking out loans for school now. Just need to try to find the lowest rate you can. She's going to a private college, and the costs are staggering.

I never had loans, luckily. We'll be paying off her loans for a while, but since she's going into the high demand nursing field, I'm not too worried.

I know it's different since your daughter is younger and not married, etc...

I commuted from home for a lot of my college life. I think your thoughts are practical, and she knows she has a place to go once she's done. Having the chance to pay them off and live with you if necessary is something anyway. Security of the mind.
