Went to the gym last night YAY!! My thighs are sore but sore means they are melting away right? ;) I REALLY need to go back to the old gym. It might have been smaller but I never felt out of place there. The one we go to know is full of rich thin people. When we first joined I thought ohhh fancy. Now I'm just annoyed. The people who work there stand around a desk and do nothing productive. You can't even get help with equipment unless you set up an appointment. Why are all those people standing around there?
When I went last year they kept telling me I wasn't going to get where I wanted without a personal trainer. The CHEAPEST personal training package was over a grand. I got frustrated and quit going. Snobby employs and skinny 20 something in the classes. So last night my attitude was very much "leave me the hell alone and let me work out" It was sooo damn crowded too. A lot of people there went to Zumba which made it less crowded but I'd never be able to do Zumba there.
The old gym was nice it was small and there may have been a bit of a wait for a treadmill but if you needed help the person at the desk would show you how to use the equipment. Everyone kept to themselves and the people were older and more "average". The classes were mainly 30+ moms and some were even senior classes that anyone was welcome to attend I would love that.
They seemed more geared to normal people then super models and the country club elite.
So after our membership at "Chez Fitness Club" we'll be going back to the Gretzky Centre. It's cheaper too so that is also a plus. The only draw back is unless you are doing water aerobics you will never be able to use the pool. It's so full of little kids or serious swimmers that it's pretty much a no go. I haven't gone once to the other place's pool so I don't think it will be an issue. :D
