Be Your Own Valentine

Today is day 41 of my current streak!

My personal theme for this month is to be my own Valentine. I've spent way too many years putting myself down for my imperfections, neglecting my health and spirit, and just not loving myself enough. But not anymore! I realize now that its so important for us to love ourselves. Its not selfish! We owe it to ourselves and to our loved ones to care enough about ourselves to be the very best that we can be. That means appreciating our bodies and doing our best to be as healthy as possible.

So as part of my desire to be my own Valentine this month (and beyond!) I started a weekly challenge on one of the teams I co-lead....to post one thing each day that you love about your body! Today was the last day of the challenge so I thought I would post my list of the things I love about my body.

Seven things I emoticon about my body;

Friday Feb 1;Ok, I'm going to say it...I like my butt! emoticon
Its still bigger than I want it to be, but it has definitely gotten smaller and firmer! I chalk that up to all the DDP Yoga I do, especially the "Below the Belt" workout which is my favorite one! I think my butt is the area that has shown the most progress, lol.

Saturday Feb 2; My upper arms are my "trouble zone." Its where the fat goes first, and its where I lose last, too! But in spite of that, I love my arms because they are STRONG!

Sunday Feb 3; I like my eyes. I think they sparkle with good health now!

Monday Feb 4;I like my thighs! they still have a little more jiggle than I'd like, but they are strong and they are getting firm!

Tuesday Feb 5; I love it that I can feel my collar bones!

Wednesday Feb 6; My neck has slimmed, and there is a nice curve where my neck meets my shoulder. I love how feminine that makes me feel!

Thursday Feb 7; I love my waist! For so long, I didn't even have a waist! The extra weight made me just look round. But now that I've lost 71 lbs, I not only can see my waist, but it is pretty darned firm! I'm proud of those oblique muscles!
