Today is my five-month anniversary on Spark People. Since I started five months ago, I have lost a total of 22 pounds, four inches in my waist, two inches in my hips, three inches in my thighs and an inch in my upper arms. Beyond that, I have made some Spark Friends and I have learned a lot about nutrition and fitness.
My latest diet focus is a hybrid of the 17-Day Diet. It's more like the 7-Day Diet. I learned that I lost weight mostly during the first week of the 17-Day Diet, so I have revised the schedule to seven days on, seven days off, repeat. So far this seems to be working. I lost five pounds on my first "on" cycle. I start my next "on" cycle on Monday. That's also the day I will start the four-week "Diet Bet" in which I have contributed $10 to a pool and will compete to try to lose 4% of my starting weight over a four-week period with a chance to split the pot with fellow dieters who are successful.
