30-day Challenge: Day Five

When someone asks me why I’m eating differently, I keep responding with “The Paleo diet.” Yet I hate saying “diet” because I do not feel I am restricting any calories. Honestly, I am eating a lot more than I usually would! The Paleo solution simply requires me to put thought into what I place on my plate. No longer am I reaching into the freezer and pulling out a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Therapy. My energy level has increased slightly, although my intense workouts have decreased any potential spike in energy I should be experiencing, in my opinion.

The fact that I do feel full longer and only look for food out of boredom is a sign that there is a huge change happening in my body! The elimination of sugars, dairy, and grains and increase in healthy fats, protein and carbs is definitely making a difference. It may be to soon to actually tell how sustainable this will be in the long run, because the price of produce is a blow to my budget. The results, too, are also too soon to go crazy about but I am enjoying the weight loss and official end to my weight plateau!

I am looking forward to continuing this process and seeing where it leaves me in the next twenty-five days. I’m going to look into coconut milk ice cream, though, because seriously there will be no sustainability without the occasional ice cream break ;) Oh, and I have my first Crossfit day off since my “training” started so I am looking forward to working on my squat form and taking a brisk walk with Toby tomorrow!
