I noticed my last blog was from Week 1. I was so gung ho. Since then so much has happened. Mainly my DH's father cancer got aggressive. We had him to the hospital Dec 19th, but he was able to come home again for the holidays. We brought him back up on Jan 3rd and he was admitted then. He has gotten progressively worse since then. I don't expect him to last much longer than a week or two. We have been up to the hospital just about every day and we did have some calls to come up when he was doing really poorly. He has been the king of the rebounds though and is still holding on. It is sad to see him suffering so much at this point. Between the holidays, eating on the run and emotional eating, I just haven't been focussed on nurturing myself.
I went to a WW meeting this week. First time since Jan 10th. I was very surprised that I was only up .4 lbs. The meeting has re-motivated me and I started tracking points since Tuesday. I was 16 over Tuesday and 4 over yesterday, but I still managed to lose 1 lb. Yes, it is challenging tracking with everything going on, but I need to do this for me.
While I was at the meeting, one of the members (who has lost 15 lbs since Christmas!) mentioned that she carries a Fibre 1 bar in her purse. She mentioned that the Peanut Butter bar was only 2 pts, but to be careful, some are 3 pts. I don't like peanut butter, but last night at the grocery store I found the Strawberry bar has only 2 pts. I tried it for breakfast with an apple this morning. Delicious! I also bought a bunch of frozen Smart Ones dinners. I generally try to stick to real food, but if I know there is an easy frozen dinner when I get home from the hospital, I will be less tempted to stop for pizza, sub or KFC. I will have to look for some more ease low point, low effort food options to keep me going until I have more time to focus again. Meanwhile, I will make sure to attend a WW meeting each week to keep me focussed. I will track my points and I will try to check in on SP more regularly.
