My goal this week and hopefully this month is to go with very little processed ingredients. I find that many vegetarians and vegans switch from meat to mock meats and I fit that category. Now I'm not saying I will 100% go mock meat free but I would like to reduce the amounts of it that I can on a daily basis. Plus, it's nice to reduce the amount of other processed things that I normally would eat that may necessarily not be the best for my body. The hubby has been taking it in strides too - but he still has been having a lot of sugar which is processed. I would never deprive him of anything if he wants it, my lifestyle is not necessary his all the way. (That's not to say I won't sneak in healthier stuff though...)
So my meals as of late: (You can see details in all food I share on main page)
Breakfast: Traditional oats with chiaseeds, flaxseeds and inulin. I have added a little brown sugar into this mixture because I do suffer from low sugar counts in my blood.
Snacks: organic clementines, pineapple, strawberries and an occasional apple. And, lots and lots of tea! (yea, it's cold here still)
Lunch: Large Organic mixed baby greens with a hot stir-fry on top. Weird but yummy on cold days.
Dinner: A bit more wholesome than lunch but that's because my body is hungry by then after working out and also the hubby is home so he wants something heavier. These are made with fresh organic (when possible) ingredients and less processed ingredients.
Did I mention that I have taken away the coffee for a few weeks? I used to drink a mug or few every day but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't dependent on it. So I took the time off and guess what I didn't really miss it at all. I have had tea which does have some caffeine but even on the days I had only teavana herbal fruit teas, nothing. So, I'm happy that I'm all good on the no addiction to coffee thought and hoping that I will once again drink coffee in the morning but still have tea on others. After all, I love going to the coffeehouse and trying out new flavors while working and playing... (Plus our new Keurig comes today so...)
