My last entry was in August 2012. I stopped keeping track of my exercise and the food I ate just because I started to get discouraged when the scales are not moving. I also faced some barriers from over-exercising. The doctor advised me to take a rest and alternate workouts.

But during those 4-5 months, it took a really long while to regain my old habits. I am also fit despite the fact that I don't exercise as regularly as I do and I am not as strict with what I ate. Looking back, I could just imagine what I could have achieved if I stuck to it. If I did not get discouraged and just continue being consistent.

So now, I am starting again. I am going to need all of your support. The road may be tough but I know I got this.

Hopefully, I can sustain the habits the second time around.

It takes real courage to admit that you have been away and fell in to some old bad habits. However, it sounds like you didn't backtrack that much so something must have clicked for you since you maintained a good level of fitness. I have osteoarthritis so I know what you mean about overexercising. It is hard. You wan't to strive to do your best, but then there can be consequences if you don't listen to your body's signals. I now try to do that. For instance, I love zumba but it can cause me pain if I don't modify some of the moves.

The wonderful thing about Sparkpeople is that there is really no judgement. We have all been there, done that. We know about falling on and off the wagon. There's plenty of inspiration from those that have not only reached their goals but maintained their weight loss. So, we've got to push forward because we know it is good for our health, our bodies and hey, if we look better too that is an added bonus. I know you can do this. You've got this girl! emoticon
