Goals for This Month

Yes, I actually have goals for this month because this week was wacky. First, I burned my calories, and I still have about three days to work out. Lately, I have been doing a lot of interval and high-intensity training, for me, at a 2 to 1 ratio. Two minutes high intensity and 1 minute low intensity or 20 seconds high intensity and 10 seconds low intensity. My body has been like, "Woah! What is going on?" Anyway, I haven't done as much core work as I was starting to last week, partly because the work outs are giving me one hell of a work out, and I get tired sooner. I did do core work on Sunday and yesterday. But, I plan to do core work the rest of the week to catch up.
However, so I don't slide back into just doing cardio and ST, I am making it my birthday goal to do 20 to 30 minutes of core work four days a week, minimum, for the month of February and probably beyond. I also have to stretch more, and I am planning on doing stretching before and after I work out. I usually do so afterward, but I have forgotten the last two times I have gone to the gym. Well, guess it's three goals.
I knew this awful day was coming, but I am noticing the effect that salt has on my water retention and also how it makes me tired. I am going to cut down (not out) on salt. This one may be harder than doing sit up reps and planks, but I need to be honest with myself. I feel like I'm carrying five extra pounds today, and I am quite yucky. (I ate a small bag of baked Doritos yesterday night because my calories were low, thank you stress, and the salt is probably to blame for this "ugh.") Besides, if food tastes better without sugar, I think the same will be true for reduced salt meals.
Time to school my taste buds.
