Hump day is over

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Well for some reason yesterday seemed increasingly long. I got through work and tutoring and had some homemade chicken and dumplings (I am not pretending it was very healthy but it was good and since I had not eaten much all day and it didn't hurt my throat I was glad we had it). I got lots of sleep last night- I was in bed by 9 and out by 9:15. today after tutoring I am going to take another nice bath and rest- I have to do some laundry but that really isn't that hard. This morning I threw 2 chicken breast (about 10 oz), 64 oz of chicken broth ant tons of veggies (corn, carrots, peas and asparagus) in the crockpot- when I get home I will add some whole wheat egg noodles- and then hopefully I will have some yummy chicken noodle soup to get me through the rest of the week and weekend. Today I brought the canned stuff for work- I know it's not that great but it is what it is (and the calories aren't that bad I just need to have lots of water today. The working out is just not happening this week so I am trying to concentrate on my water and on choosing healthier foods. My son will be at his biological fathers house this weekend so my goal is to batch cook for him (I make a months worth of breakfast and lunches and freeze them to make life easier for everyone) and to maybe start packing some. Not sure if I put this on here or not but someone on craigslist who I was going to buy 36 moving boxes from (for $30)- well Monday when I showed up at his house to get them he gave them to me FREE and four rolls of packing tape- he was a really nice guy with a family too and he understood moving sucked. So I want to start packing the things that we are not using so that life will be simpler when we do have to go. Still no word form the bank yet. We are hoping to live a few months rent free so that we can save for the moving cost and a deposit on a new place- since apparently our landlord is a giant jerk we are out the $1500 deposit we put down!!! Looking for some good gluten free recipes for my son for batch cooking- I try to include some muffins in the lunch and breakfasts- so that life is not just sandwiches. So I will be cruising the site today checking out the recipes. On a good note- although I miss my son when he is gone it is some time that me and my boyfriend get to spend together and talk and work on stuff- plus this weekend it will give me the chance to sleep in and get some much needed rest! I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thursday and keeps the spark alive in their day:)

Baby steps!!! You are doing great! Everything is slowly working out. I'm sure being sick doesn't help anything and just stresses you out more, atleast it does me, but you just gotta keep your head up and keep on truckin'! That was SO nice of that man to give you the boxes and tape for free!! Focus on the little successes and it makes everything seem better! I'll be looking around for some good gluten free recipes!
