Summit Shots

Thursday, February 07, 2013

When was the last time that you made your way to the summit of a peak? Taking the time to struggle up to the summit of Monadnock, Madison, Mooselauki or Mt. Washington is a heart-pounding, swetting experience. The camaraderie of climbing with friends is an exhilarating experience.

The shots from the peak remind us of the our time with friends and struggle that we go through to reach our goals.

Maybe your "summit" is graduation, getting a promotion, or your wedding. Whatever your summit, cherish the memories, and the shots!

Wow-how awesome is that!!! My husband climbed to 10,000 once in the summer at the highest peak in the Smokies one year. I gave up! Now I wish I had went too! emoticon

I love the summit and the shots, as well as the metaphors. The funny part is that I just had that conversation with my son: Our favorite moments hiking. We are working on our Adirondack 46. We actually found that a lot of favorite moments were not from standing on a peak, but from getting there. Isn't that funny how many times the journey truly is the destination???

Sometimes reaching the summit of a mountain is easier than other goals, but the journey must continue.

As they say, it's the journey, not the result, that matters most.
