I'm craving.....

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Chinese food ... for about a week now...I keep going back and forth on whether or not it would be worth it.....the place I would really like to get it at .. I have no way of tracking so I have decided that Panda Express would be the better option...the Orange Chicken Chow mein bowl is 910 calories it worth it emoticon I've been trying to rationalize how I can eat it without hurting my progress....and I was thinking about walking there to get it and then back home....I mapped it and it's not far enough... emoticon it's only 2 miles away so by the time I walk back home 4 miles....that's only 400+ calories that I would be burning ....I'm not sure if I wrote this blog to talk myself out of it or what?

Get the chinese. Fill Iup on veggies first. Like you would a salad at a steak house. Then eat 1/2 of the chinese. You won't want any more anyway. That is what I do with just about everything that I want. I don't ever feel deprived and can limit my intake without that feeling of OMG I have to finish it or I will be hungry!
    Best of Luck!

A couple other options would be buy the Panda Express at the Grocery Store Freezer section, and make it at home. Measure out the portion you want and save the rest for lunch and another meal later in the week. Or invite a friend and share. You can also look up some Chinese Recipes and modify them and make it at home. We make a lot of Chinese at Home. I keep some basic Chinese Condiments and spices at home to cook with like Chinese 5 Spice, Low Sodium Soy Sauce, Hoisin Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Sesame oil, ginger and Blackbean and Garlic Sauce. I find with just these few things, I can make quite a few different Chinese Dishes we enjoy. I usually use either Brown Rice or Multi Grain Rices, and we usually use fish or chicken though I have done some beef dishes. I always seem to have a variety of fresh and frozen vegetables on hand so it is very quick and easy.

I think eating half is good. Give away the other half or allow yourself to have it the next day. Chances are, that after you eat that first half, you will think it's not worth it. If you've been thinking about it this long, you should probably have it. Wait until after your weigh in, then have it and then behave until your next weigh in. Walk to and from the restaurant and do any other thing that will help you indulge in this craving and make it a success!

It was sort of like me and the pizza the other week. I was so excited to get it for dinner, I'd hardly eaten anything all day, then when I did eat it, I ended up eating much less because it wasn't all that.

Get it out of your system and move on, or you'll make up for this craving by eating too much of something else and still not be satisfied.

    That's just my opinion. emoticon

The reason I am opting for the bowl is because it is one sharing it wouldn't work ...and the hubby's out of town. emoticon

I would get it and only eat half. That way you won't deprive yourself. Give the other half to your husband.

I believe if you want something you should get it. I stay on track all week long, but reward myself with something I am really craving at the end of the week. Its all about portion control, and I don't just gorge myself to death either. If I wanted it, I would go for it!
