70 Days of ME day 58

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

Today I didn't quite get in the exercise that I was wanting to do, but I did get some in and so I'll take it. I also learned quite a few body weight exercises hat I can do when I'm at work so that was a plus. On the downside, today my mom wanted to go get Chinese for lunch. And I know that portion control and choices are the only way to make it through a meal at ANY kind of restaurant, but Chinese and Mexican are the hardest for me. Mexican for the chips and salsa and Chinese for the egg rolls and soup. I LOVE wonton soup. Especially on days like today where I could use a little extra love towards my sinuses and this cold I'm trying to prevent. So, I had 1 small bowl of soup, when I could have easily had two or three, one egg roll, and I did the Mongolian style meal where I loaded it up with the veggies and very few noodles. I even managed to eat a ton of fresh fruits and veggies and not go up for a second plate! But the part I was most proud of today was the fact that I left the restaurant without getting ice cream. As a kid, twist ice cream was my favorite. I loved vanilla, but if twist was an option, that is what I would get. Well, for years now, the only place around here that offers twist ice cream is this Chinese restaurant. So, every time I'm there, I get a small cup of it. It's that one thing that reminds me of being a kid. But today, I left without having any at all. I'm proud of myself for it...but also slightly sad cause that stuff is so good! Lol So all in all, today was a fairly good day. :) I even emptied out my car so I can either take it in to sell to a dealer (if my dad can get it drive able) or have it hauled off to the junkyard. Either way, my car is done and leaving me and I should have a "new" one by the weekend.
