Let me show you MY Beaver

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

It feels like the GI bug I have been battling is finally passing. Today I was a bit stronger. Yesterday and today I barely met my step goal of 10,000. Hopefully tomorrow I will be up to doing more.

My neighbor's beaver ended up visiting daily since at 3:00 pm by our burn pile. He uses it as a pseudo home where he spends his time chewing the ends of the branches in the pile. We check on him off and on during the night watching him hang out there. It's FUN. He loves posing for photos.

He comes to eat my juice citrus rinds, old scraps from juicing comprised of lots of veggies, and fruit that got missed instead of being eaten. The creek is low, so probably there isn't much there to eat.

I have learned he is a MALE, he waddles when he walks, isn't very fast, is polite, never threat threatening, and is a STRICT VEGETARIAN. He loves mangos, pineapples, grapefruit, and tangerines.

Great picture. I'm in a neighborhood in Denver with a park with a small lake just a few houses south of my house and a river about 1/3 mile east. We get raccoons, foxes, skunks and even at times. I even have a peregrine falcon that sits on my garage roof at times, plus birds I feed and squirrels my dog loves to chase. None as cute as you beaver. Thanks for sharing this picture and story. emoticon

Awwww I love it!!! He's so cute!! When I lived in another area in Mississippi, we had several beavers. They were so much fun to watch but they made the biggest mess of the creek by damming it. The Forrestry Commission guy came out and trapped some and relocated them so that he could blow the dam. We missed the little critters when they left but it wasn't long and we had coons LOL Now THAT was bothersome!
