Interesting challenge--Another Update

Well, I've almost finished a week with the "do 15 minutes of exercise before eating any snacks" challenge. It's been really good. Aside from Day 1 (when I honestly can't remember whether I exercised before snacking or not) I've followed the plan every day! I've sure put more thought into my snacking, too!

What was my exercise today?

A heart-thumping Jillian Michaels DVD? No
A crazy-cold walk outdoors? No
Walking up and down the basement stairs with two 5-lb hand weights? No

Today's exercise was 150 calories burned playing Wii Fit Plus. Is that cheating? Surely it's not as intense as Jillian Michaels and the stairs. But I don't think it's cheating, either.

You see, according to my BodyBugg, my calories burned per minute wasn't that different from a good brisk walk. Also, tonight it felt like if I was going to get active, this was about the only option. So I put in 30 minutes and now I can have my snack! (I also had lots of fun and my kids got a few good laughs at Mom and her silly Wii antics.)

    You are right any workout is not cheating because the key was to get yourself moving before snacking and you accomplished that my beautiful friend! Two thumbs up for you! emoticon

    Love that you enjoyed yourself and that means it is something you would continue to do for fun and exercise...who says it has to be hard for it to make a difference....I say anything extra you do for movement is a step in the right direction....the muscles are working....the calories are burning and you are having fun....WIN WIN and you are more likely to do it again so it just keeps getting better.

    Proud of you....so very proud of you!

    So glad to know your challenge for 15 min. Is going so well. And yes, you are not cheating. You are doing great !! But let me tell you about Jillian's DVD. She does work you out !! I have 2 of her DVD and each time when I do her video. OMG !! My heart rate is up and my work out cloth is soak and wet!! My mussel is tired but thanking her. Lol))
