I've been on Spark People for awhile. Every-time I use this site religiously I see great results. I am recently in the process of being diagnosed with Adult onset Asthma. I have never had this problem before. I now find myself wishing I would have continued my path to a more healthy lifestyle, wondering that if I had been more strict on myself. Would I be where I am today?
I have been having issues breath since I moved from a 55,000 + population town in the valley of Oregon to the big city of Portland 6 months ago. I like to mountain bike, play disc golf and have recently started to take up snowboarding. Although I am still quite heavy for my 5'2 frame. I wonder if I had stuck to a healthier routine before hand if I would have these issues now.
Last week, I had to quit snowboarding an hour in because every run was killing my lungs and I had gotten to a point where I couldn't breathe at all.
In the summer when I would go on bike rides through this gorgeous wooded path I had severe breathing problems and vomited a few times after my ride. I am 27 now almost 28. I feel like I have the body of a 60 year old. I have recently caught bronchitis through my asthma, and I feel as thought this will never end.
I am back to Spark People, not only to lose weight but to find my way again, to find my strength and to prove to myself and others that whatever life gives you, you can survive and do the things you love.
I may not get rid of this asthma, but I will make it my bitch! Nothing is going to keep me from the things I love.
Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Dancing, Rafting etc.
