Today I am trying to start fresh. I started this website tracking.
I started a serious weight loss plan in October. I went to see a Registered Dietician to see exactly what I was doing wrong. I try so hard and I lose nothing. Well since October - even through Christmas I lost a total of 25 pounds. Yes i started at 270. I am very happy I lost the 25 lbs but I am very disappointed that I have hit a plateau and have not seriously lost anything the whole month of January - even thought my eating habits are pretty much under control.

So today I started anew. I signed up with Spark people and I am going to give it a shot. I am going to try and commit to at least 10 minutes of exercise a day for now. I work long hours 12 hour shifts - and some days just 10 minutes is asking a lot. But I am going to commit to doing it. I am going to crack the whip on the food and track every morsel!

Today I did a 45 minute yoga for weight loss video - and it was difficult for me. My back hurts alot - the stretching felt good. Was very proud of myself. But when I went to track my fitness I discovered it really don't count. :( WEll, I tracked 10 minutes of power yoga. I want some credit!! But seriously - I will try harder and I will ride my exercise bike I guess for the next few days. I am not good at exercise I never know what to do - and walking hurts my back really bad. Will see how this goes.

I can do it.

    I am glad you are down 25#. I'm reading Richard Bernstein MD's "THE DIABETES DIET" and learning so much. I don't have diabetes, but I do have INSULIN RESISTANCE. He says ALL obese people are IR. I recommend listening to his lectures on YouTube. He's had Type 1 Diabetes since age 12, so he knows his business. He is 78 now. He says we need Metformin to help with Insulin Resistance and it makes it easier then to lose weight. Do have a good check up from your doctor.

Rodney Yee has the best YOGA videos. He is an Iyengar instructor..

    It counts! Every Little bit counts, It may not be cardio, but you moved. emoticon I have found that this is a great website, with a lot of resources and a GREAT community of supportive and helpful people, but there are a few quirks that can be irritating. The 100-120 cals I burn every Sunday on my 10-12 minute bike ride do not show up on my Spark Summary Calendar. I have read post about people who do Events that have them walking for more than 3 hours, don't get full credit for it when they input the data. We need to give ourselves the credit, and keep it in the front of our minds that we did do it, we accomplished something, and be proud of what we did. 45 Minutes of Yoga, emoticon
