Vegetable Oil and Heart Disease: Something to Think About

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

"Since the 1970's, we've reduced our sugar, salt, and saturated fat intake, and we've dramatically reduced our rates of smoking, high serum cholesterol and high blood pressure. At the same time, rates of chronic disease, including coronary heart disease, have increased - in some cases, dramatically."

(I'm still working on my letter to a beautiful little girl... that it's hard is the most important reason to do it!)

May today and every day bring to you a ridiculous abundance of whatever you need. May all your concerns, struggles, anxieties and fears fall like ashes as you rise on eagle's wings, SOARING above all that would hinder you along this tremendous adventure of being and becoming all you are created to be. May you be overwhelmed by the grace of God as it simply "overtakes" you moment by moment... rather than being overwhelmed by the cares of life!

(I'm now keeping these right under my nose... in addition to being part of every blog I post, they are printed off and taped to my bedroom mirror... and I update whenever I feel the need - likely early February, 2013... to either see for myself what feel like significant changes, or to encourage myself to keep the faith when I feel no change at all despite my efforts)

I love Eathropology! Adele is right down here at UNC. I'd love to meet her! A nutritionist who makes sense! Gimme that animal fat spread! Thanks, Ramona, as usual.

OM, these are very interesting findings.

Just goes to show you that eating real foods, and not processed food is still better for you (including "heart" healthy adaptions).

Great info on improving what you consume Ramona

I heard a recent report on TV saying the margarine is no longer considered better than butter!!! Surely veg oil spread has got to be better than animal fat spread!!
