I planned to go to the gym last night after 7:30 when the crowd starts to thin. After dinner my husband and I watched Hawaii 5-O that we had recorded. I was chilly and curled up with a blanket then our lab curled up next to me. A great end to a hectic day!
That's a bad move when you plan to go to the gym! I had just posted on Facebook to another fitness challenge "no excuses Tuesday". Not even sure where that came from, just popped out.
After Hawaii 5-O, I drug myself off the couch, pulled a sweatshirt over my tank top and put jeans and boots on so I would be warm and dry for the drive home.
I got to the gym and noticed they still hadn't corrected the hot and humid temp in there they messed up last week. UGH! I told myself to suck it up, good practice for the Warrior Dash I am registered for in the summer.
I noticed in the locker room that I forgot my workout pants. ARGH! I thought 'I'm skipping this, I'm tired anyway!' Then I remembered my Facebook post, "no excuses Tuesday". Grrrr! Blast my stupid Pollyanna attitude!
So I went home, got the pants and went back to the gym. Running back and forth through the cold parking lot woke me up.
i decided I'd only run a mile but actually I had a good 3 1/2 mile run. A little bit of walking to catch my breath for 30 seconds here and there but then I pushed myself to hit 6.0 and 6.2 for speed which is unheard of for me. A few times when I knocked the speed down to 5.0 it felt slow! SHUT UP! SO COOL!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, some of my best workouts happened when I thought I was too tired or conditions were not quite to my standards!
I have to remember my "no excuses" post each day!
