February 2013 Goals

I did really great in January. My goal was to lose 4-5 pounds and I lost 4.4 pounds! Right on the mark!

I think I will go back to setting and posting monthly goals. I feel that I have a routine that is working for me. I don't need to make any drastic changes to it at this point.

My main goal for February 2013 is to lose another 4-5 pounds. I am off to a good start already. Today I weighed in at 155.0! I am now down a total of 6 pounds from my starting weight of 161 on 1/1/13.

I will continue to track my food. I still feel the food tracker is very helpful. And it's gotten to be a habit now, so it's not an inconvenience anymore.

I will continue to work on increasing my activity level. In January, I tried to push too hard, too soon and had to back off. This month I will be more careful.

I have a Fitbit One now and it's fun to track my calories burned each day. It helps me figure out how many calories I really should be eating to lose weight. It motivates me to move a little more each day also.

Overall, I am pleased with my performance in January. It wasn't easy. I had a lot of very "frustrating" moments. My feelings go up and down constantly. One minute I just know I can do it and the next I feel like throwing in the towel! Sometimes, it seems so unfair that I have to work so hard to lose even one pound. But "it is what it is" as they say!  I am not one of those people with tons of willpower or discipline with food.  So it has been a pleasant surprise that I managed to get through the entire month of January sticking to my food plan. I think it is my sheer "Determination" that is getting me through the tough times!

I big "Thank You" to all my spark friends for their support! I know you are all having a positive effect on my journey. I truly appreciate each and every comment and "like" you have contributed!

I know I have a long way to go to get to my first goal of 140 pounds. But I feel I am well on my way. I am so DETERMINED to get there by my birthday in June!

Wishing everyone success and happiness in February!

Goals - Since I began my journey 28th Dec I and three other men from church made a challenge
to loose 15 pounds by 25 Feb. When I consider the larger goal of 41 pounds it seems too huge to achieve - but 15 pounds in 57 days - yes I can do that.

You are doing awesome. Keep setting your goals and posting them and we will hold you accountable (with encouragement and support). It's very hard for me to lose anymore weight and I really want to get to 148-155. It seems 160 may be it for me. I'll keep trying nonetheless.
