So Iíve been eating clean for approximately 110 hours nowÖwhich really doesnít seem like much so Iím going with five daysÖalso doesnít seem like much. Hmm. Okay well Iíve been eating clean since Friday night and *that* seems like forever ago. The biggest problem Iíve come across is the fact that I am eating a LOT more calories than I should be Ė typically nearing 1,800.
Once again clean eating for me is:
Whole foods (so basically products of nature, not industry), only locally raised meat, all natural sweeteners (no sugar), no refined grains, and nothing out of a box, can, bag, bottle or package that has more than 5 ingredients. I also avoid buying any of the "dirty dozen" (foods with the highest pesticide residue) unless they're organic.
Yesterdayís food intake included:
Shot of apple cider vinegar (acv) in the morning to keep from starving until lunch
A smoothie (fresh strawberries, a tablespoon of cacao nibs, a tablespoon of flaxseed, 10 oz of almond milk, and a cup of stoney field vanilla yogurt)
**IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT MY MEASUREMENTS ARE BASED ON GUESSES. I DONíT HAVE THE TIME TO MEASURE NOR DO I FEEL LIKE DOING ALL THOSE EXTRA DISHES. IF IíM OVER-GUESSING OR UNDER-GUESSING THEN OH WELL. I DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR MEEEE.**
1 cup homemade macaroni and cheese (whole wheat noodles, raw mozzarella)
1 cup homemade chili (kidney beans, locally raised organic ground beef, onion, garlic, tomatoes, tomato juice)
4 oz chicken breast (no skin, homemade, local and pasture-raised)
Another shot of ACV
1 apple with 4 tablespoons of organic peanut butter (I was hungry after my workout but not as hungry as I was after work, before I took the shot of acv)
7 strawberries with Ĺ stoney field vanilla yogurt
All of this added up to almost 1,700 calories! Which okay yeah really isnít that surprising but honestly I went to bed HUNGRY. Iím not sure if itís because itís my ďtimeĒ next week so my metabolism is already revving up a bit or if itís me detoxing from all the chemicals/pesticides/GMOs/no-g
oods-but-taste-goods or if itís a combination of everything plus exercise but Iím ALWAYS hungry. Iím hoping the acv will help even that out and that things will get easier once my stomach shrinks a bit (actually I KNOW itíll get easier). Iím going to keep counting calories but Iím also going to remind myself that at least Iím putting quality fuel in the tank.
