I just realized... eventually I won't be able to help out in weight loss challenges

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

Happy Wednesday. I was just figuring out how much weight loss 5% would be. Eventually I won't be able to lose 5% more weight! I will have to find challenges that are for maintaining. I am getting closer to my healthy goal weight of 155. I want to lose more weight after that, but eventually I will get to a point where I won't lose more weight! I am not there yet, but the thought just crossed my mind! It is harder to lose weight now because I lost so much so far!

I am hoping to do Zumba tomorrow night if I get out of work on time. It stinks the Zumba class I like starts at 6:30. If I work late, I can't make it! I could probably find another zumba which is later, but the only ones I saw last time I checked had a min of classes you had to sign up for. You had to sign up for X week sessions, and if you missed a class, you wouldn't get reimbursed. So.. we'll see.

I signed up for my first yoga Mixed Level class at a new facility. It was $40 for 10 classes, so I think that was a decent deal. It is a family health center, so I am not sure how it will be. At least it will be good exercise and stretching. They have a few 730pm classes so that should be ok with my late night schedule.

Once I figure out all of the yoga classes I am going to attend, I am going to write in a 5K schedule for me. Putting my exercise schedule on my calendar helps me actually do it! Even if I work late nights, the treadmill is at home so I can use it anytime. I still need to do research to sign up for another 5K. The color run looks interesting, but they didn't post a date yet. It was July last year, so I am guessing it will be also be in July. I saw there is a color run and also a color me rad run. They both have the paint/colors, and they are both in Philadelphia. I really want someone to go with me, because I don't like going into the city by myself. I am not good at parking & I will feel out of place there! There is also a color run in NJ an hour away, so that may be a better choice for me. Where the Philly race will take place is almost an hour away from where I am living right now so... I don't know! I also want to figure out which other 5K races I want to do in the spring after tax season!

Hopefully everyone has a great rest of the week. Keep pushing towards those Feb & long term goals! Every small step counts!

You're doing great! I was so excited when I was able to drop out of the Needs to lose 50-99 lbs team and join the Lose 25-49 one instead.

Kimpy, They told me we can still participate in the 5% challenges and just state we are maintaining. I am not doing the Winter challenge for other reasons, but am missing the chit chat. I still need to figure out just what I should weigh among other things! My goal is perhaps too thin. At any rate, I'm interested in maintenance challenges, if only for another tool in my belt!

Kimpy, you've done so emoticon at your weight loss. You are one of my main inspirations at Spark here. I know that when you reach goal you may not be pariticpating in the 5% challenges but I am sure Spark has a lot available for those in maintainence too.
When I joined the 5% challenge last fall I joined for the push to loose the lbs. Now I find myself looking forward to the winter challenge because I want to reconnect or journey on with new friends I met last fall.
So I'm sure it'll be different for you leaving behind a community you've come to know but hey, you can forge the way for me and others like you have so far and I plan to join you there some time.

Good luck on your weight goal. For me, losing has been easier than maintaining. emoticon

It never ends, does it? Reach your goal and you still have to maintain.

Not being able to participate in 5% challenges...that's a GOOD thing though emoticon How exciting that you are so close to your goal! I think another 5K (or 2, or 3) would be an awesome way to kick off the spring. Hopefully you can find one that is close by and find someone to run it with you!

I am close to goal and 5% will put me 3 pounds BELOW goal--so I may not make it either. There are maintainer challenges--stay at the same weight--they judge "winning" by calculating standard deviation. I'm not ready for that yet! Great price for the yoga classes--I had a deal that expires this month--didn't use all 10 but even the 5-6 I did made it worth it!

emoticon for you for almost hitting your goal weights. You may not be able to participate in weight loss challenges forever but you sure can help in the maintaining department. You are determined, and an inspiration. Wishing you lots of luck.

$40 for 10 classes is a STEAL! You enjoy those. I love yoga! Especially because I run, yoga feels so great.
I hope you find a 5K race!

It must feel great realizing that you won't be able to participate in many more 5% challenges - you've come so far! That is a fantastic deal on yoga classes - it's one of my favorite workouts of the week. Good for you for preparing to put your 5K schedule together, it's so great to have your goals and plan written out. Yay!

Sparking as a Team would be great for you by that time, then, since the challenges aren't based on weight- this month we got goals for different strength moves.

Hope you like the yoga class! $4 per class sounds like a great deal!
