Jillian's Body Revolution

My son wakes up way too early which leads to me watching way too many infomercials. Recently ,after seeing it advertised several times, I decided to check out Jillian Michaels newest series entitled Body Revolution. I personally like her workout dvd's. I have pretty much tried all of them and began my weight loss journey 3 years ago by using the 30 day shred in my routine. I am currently on week 2 of phase 1. Here is my review thus far.

The thing that intrigued me the most about these workouts is that there are so many. There are 12 different workouts and 3 cardio workouts. I am hoping that the variety will keep me from getting bored. The program is made up of 3 phases. Each phase last 4 weeks and consists of 4 workouts and 1 cardio . You will need dumbbells and resistance bands for the workouts. The schedule is laid out like this.
Phase 1
weeks 1 and 2
day 1 workout 1
day 2 workout2
day 3 cardio
day 4 workout1
day 5 workout2
day 6 cardio
day 7 rest

The second part of phase 1 is the same switching out workout 1 and 2 with 3 and 4. This outline is repeated in phase 2 and 3 with 4 different workouts and different cardio in each of the remaining phases.

The workouts consist of a warm up, 4 circuits and a cool down. Each circuit is made up of 4 exercise repeated once with 1 minute of cardio in between. These workouts are only 25-30 mins and seem to fly by for me. Workouts 1 and 2 seem relatively easy and I am doing the advanced version of the exercise now in week 2. Even though I have enjoyed workout 1 and 2 the cardio workout sucks. Cardio 1 is 8 1 min intervals repeated 3 friggen times. 22 minutes felt like an hour for me. I substituted my second day of cardio with a gym workout. And unless I am just in a pinch I will continue to do so.

I cant really review the nutrition plan included with this because I didnt follow it. Its basically a 1200 cal plan with recipes that I cant afford to make. 250 cal brekfast, a 400 cal lunch, a 150 calorie snack and a 400 cal dinner. It says that the recipes are simple and easy to follow which seems to be true. I prefer to eat smaller meals more often so it just doesnt work for me.

SO all in all Body revolution is a thumbs up for me thus far. I have definitely found the time to fit the workouts into my schedule which is a godsend for me. Now if I can keep my eating in check I might just get the results I want from this 90 day plan. emoticon
