Side Effects

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

I guess I spoke too soon on Sunday. I'm now seeing the side effects of going off induction on Saturday and Sunday.

First of all, there are the physical symptoms. Yeah, let's not get into that. I'm sure you can think of what I mean. Secondly, there are the cravings that have resurfaced. These cravings caused me to eat a quarter jar of peanut butter last night and drink a couple glasses of milk. Neither of those are good for Atkins Induction.

The only thing I can say is you live and you learn. I'm not perfect. I just need to get back on track. Starting with today, which has gone great so far. I've had pork roast for breakfast, a cup of coffee with a little heavy whipping cream and Splenda, and now a big glass of water. I'll eat more pork roast for lunch, followed by a stick of cheese. For dinner tonight, I'm making my famous kale recipe with shrimp scampi (the low carb version).

I'm happy because my anxiety has been lower the last few days. I tend to have anxiety about everything, not just the bar exam - what people think of me, how I look, what's going on at work, what's going on in the world, etc. It's nice to be less anxious for a change.

I leave you with a quote: "What you allow is what you continue."

Have a great day!

I applaud you getting right back on track, sometimes that's tough when you eat carbs and find those cravings coming back. Good for you and I'm glad your anxiety levels have subsided. emoticon

We all seem to get our heads stuck into the peanut butter jars sometimes. LOL. The stuff is too good. Good job on getting back on plan.

I'm having problems with anxiety right now and am working on it.

I would probably have eaten the entire jar of peanut butter; that's why I don't keep it in the house. emoticon

You'll get there! You're trying to balance a lot right now. Give yourself a pat on the back for all that you've accomplished! emoticon

The more I'm told I can't have something, the more I want it! I set some really strict guidelines on my alcohol consumption and failed miserably. However, when I said I'm going to cut back a little, I ended up cutting back a lot!

Glad to hear you are feeling less anxious...

We all learn from things we have done. If we don't learn then something is wrong but you seem to have seen what went wrong and are no fixing that. Way to go!!!!
