I've managed to get off the plateau that I've been stuck on for the past few weeks. I tried a new meal plan from Happy Herbivore and it did not work well for me. It was too high in carbs and too low in protein for my needs. I had a look at my trackers from a couple of months ago when I was losing consistently and I'm now using those as meal plan guidelines. I still feel like Weight Watchers Points Plus is easier for me to manage than just tracking calories etc. I have always hated numbers and PP means that I have fewer numbers to look at so it's easier to keep things in balance.
I saw my doctor last week and we discussed my goal weight. When I joined Spark in 2009 I picked 169 as my goal weight. At the time I didn't actually believe that I would get there and my dream was to be below 170 pounds so 169 became my goal.
Well, now I'm at 181 and 169 seems to be an entirely realistic goal so I decided to bite the bullet and ask my doctor how much I "should" weigh. She took out a BMI range calculator wheel thing and told me that she would be very happy to see me at 165 pounds. 165 pounds?! Yay! That's only four pounds less than the weigh that I picked and it will allow me some breathing room for monthly water weight fluctuation while still staying below 170!
As of today I have only 12 pounds left to lose to meet the "I'll never get there" goal that I set in 2009 and I have only 16 pounds left to lose to meet my official straight-from-the-doctor's-mou th healthy weight goal! Now that I'm getting close I'm feeling an amazing new sense of motivation. Once again I'm thankful for this website and every single one of my Spark friends and team members. I would have given up without you. Hugs to all. WE CAN DO THIS!!!
