On a Roll

Sunday: The sun is back! And it was in the high 50s for today’s ride. Mike, Norma, Greg, Debbie and I met at Greg’s hangar. Rode out Ferretti and up 120 to the Ranger Station before turning around and retracing our route. This was the first time Debbie tried Ferretti Rd. She did well except for the toughest climb where she got off and walked. It was the mental challenge that beat her not the hill.
Today is superbowl. Mike & Norma invited us over to view the game. It was fun. Greg & Debbie and Don & Kathy were there too. Of course, Callie had to participate also. The more excited we got, the more she barked.
Bonnie came back for a quick visit so we invited her over for dinner. She came after the big game. Nice to see her while she was here. Now she’s back at her new job in Washington.
Monday: Got out for another bike ride. Just sprints on the taxiway but got to see the pilots taking off in the aerobatic planes. Dan took Mike and they went flying in our Zen. They returned and Dan disappeared. Soon I was hearing the Bell47 flying overhead – directly overhead. I guessed correctly, it was Dan getting another lesson from Carol. He and I both had a great day.
Tuesday: Third day in a row on the bike! Left from home and met Greg by the PML front gate. I thought Debbie was going to join us but she didn’t (boo!). We rode up Elder to 120 and headed east to Big Creek. Once we crossed the bridge, we turned around and retraced our route. On my return from the front gate, I stayed on Pine Mtn Dr. to Cresthaven and then climbed up that street. I’d forgotten how long and steep it was. Oh well, good workout.
I got home from the ride, showered and glanced at the calendar. Choir rehearsal in 10 minutes! I raced out the door. Got to rehearsal a bit late but they hadn’t started yet. First session of the new season so there was paperwork to do – saved me.
