the race...

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Well, if I wasn't so would've been funny. (I can laugh now..but grrrrr). I usually run with music in 1 ear, and listen for dogs emoticon , traffic emoticon , etc with the other. So....when I line up for the race I put my earbud in and my phone starts to dial my last phone# entered into the keypad-okayyyyy-I thought I'll just hit the cancel button and everything will be coming on as planned. dials again and again and again and again and again and again and....(well hmmm, possibly Casper had ahold of it). My music struggled to come on, and gave up and closed. I tried to ignore the constant dialing and hanging up randomly in my ear through 1/2 of the race ~ during the course of the race that stupid thing dialed 199 times!!!!!!!!!!! As I was reaching the summit of the 1st bridge I debated with throwing the darn thing over the edge....but I didn't. I put the earbuds in my pocket and just enjoyed the heavy breathing going on around me!! lol All this was really ok with me, it showed me that even without any music or runkeeper telling me my pace, I ran just fine AND stayed on race pace. emoticon's the kicker....when I reached the finish line I was supposed to call my hubby and get a ride back to the start to get my car (can you guess what happened?)

Oh, You poor thing. I had a similar thing happen to me during a 10k. My music played but for some reason it kept skipping to the next track every 30 seconds. UGH! It was annoying but there was no way I was going to stop and try to figure it out. I just took the earbuds out and enjoyed the scenery and sounds all around me.
