Rapid Fire

The blood sugar battles are in full swing. I woke up to a sunrise, an alarm clock that hadn't gone off, and sugar levels of 230. I popped my pills, wolfed down a slice of bread, jumped into the shower and then some clothes, watched by my angry birds who were wondering why I didn't let them out, and actually made it to work on time.
A little walk after my first class barely brought it down, so I took some glimeperide. It worked; too well, because by lunch, it was below 90. I guess the diabetes thought if it couldn't killl me with high sugars, it would try with low. I fought back with carb rich school lunch, catapulting it up to 190, too high again, just as my students started to act up. Not exactly a good day.
In the afternoon, I got a haircut, which made me feel much better, and my blood sugars gave in and went to 139. Battle won for now.
